Who we are
We’re Ava and Rey — two women in our thirties figuring life out in the in-between. The not-quite-there, not-quite-who-we-used-to-be part. You know the one.
We started this podcast because so many of our conversations — about breakups, careers, identity, friendships, healing, and navigating spaces that weren’t built for us — kept circling the same idea: we’re not where we thought we’d be, and that’s okay.
So we made a space for it.
In the Meantime is where we talk through the stuff that doesn’t always make it into group chats or dinner parties. The messier parts. The good, weird, hard, funny parts of being women in our thirties — with lives that look fine on paper but feel a little more complicated underneath.
We’re not experts. We’re just honest. And we’re glad you’re here.
About Rey
Rey is sharp, curious, and always up for a challenge. She’s the kind of person who dives into problems headfirst and figures things out as she goes—with a quick sense of humor and just the right mix of logic and gut instinct.
She’s a big reader (always mid-way through a few books at once) and a runner who loves the rhythm of getting outside, throwing on a playlist, and letting her thoughts settle. For her, running isn’t about the pace—it’s about the headspace.
At home, Rey is endlessly hands-on. She’ll take on any DIY project with equal parts creativity and confidence, whether it’s building furniture, fixing something up, or completely reimagining a space. There’s always something in progress—and she likes it that way.
Rey brings a mix of warmth, wit, and capability to everything she does. She’s thoughtful, grounded, and just the right amount of unstoppable.
About Ava
Ava is a deep thinker with a cosmic twist. She has a sharp mind, a background in psychology, and a sixth sense for knowing when things are off—usually blaming Mercury (rightfully) for being in the microwave. She works at a big company, navigating back-to-back meetings with just the right balance of insight, sarcasm, and a dark sense of humor that keeps things real.
She’s the kind of person who’ll give you a tarot reading over coffee, call out your rising sign before you say your name, and somehow make it all feel like therapy in the best way.
Nature is her recharge zone. You’ll often find her on a hike, somewhere quiet and green, soaking it all in. And when the noise of the day gets too loud, she rolls out her yoga mat, breathes it out, and finds calm in the chaos.
Ava is unfiltered, intuitive — equal parts grounded and otherworldly, with a little magic tucked into everything she does.
